Industrial Microwave Services
......was established in Huncote, Leicestershire,
England by Mr. John Garwood in November 1987, to fill a void that
had occurred in the market for a service that offered the continued
maintenance, repair and support to industrial microwave machines;
especially in the rubber vulcanising industries throughout the U.K.

Soon after, a small workshop in Enderby was set up,
to carry out the refurbishment of 2450Mhz and 900Mhz generators for
resale. This continued business required more and more floor space
and a move to newer larger premises in Enderby was undertaken.
In the early 1990's an increased interest from
companies in the food industry was to lead IMS into the refurbishing
and up-grading of prototype machines and equipment for Research &
Development projects.
The mid 1990's continued to be a time of expansion,
an agreement was reached with California tubes in the USA to repair
and rebuild 900Mhz Magnetrons. A full production machine now
required to be refurbished, this instigated a move to larger
premises in Narborough.
1st January 1997 saw the company being registered as
Industrial Microwave Services Limited and the design and build of
new equipment was now being undertaken for several large companies.
The servicing and maintenance of many different types
of machines, required IMS to carry a large number of replacement
parts in stock, also the refurbishment and modernisation of full
rubber vulcanisation lines prompted a further move to our current
premises.
The company is committed to keeping the production
lines operational and down times to an absolute minimum.
